In a significant show of support, stakeholders from the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Yagba West Local Government Area have officially endorsed Governor Ododo for a second term. This endorsement was a highlight of the recent farmers’ empowerment program, which was facilitated by Engineer Olusegun Joseph, the Kogi State Commissioner for Environment and Ecological Management.
During the event, Commissioner Joseph attributed the successful implementation of the empowerment program to Governor Ododo’s “Back to Farm” initiative. He emphasized that the unanimous endorsement was not solely based on the governor’s appointment of two commissioners from the local government area or the completion of the Egbe township roads. Rather, it reflects a broader recognition of the governor’s commitment to expanding road rehabilitation efforts throughout the council area.
The Commissioner noted that the Governor’s generosity is evident in the improved living conditions of the residents in Yagba West and across Kogi State. He highlighted that Governor Ododo’s popularity stems from his prompt and full payment of workers’ salaries, which has fostered trust and confidence among the populace.
Commissioner Joseph further explained that this endorsement serves the best interests of the community, assuring residents of greater dividends of democracy during the governor’s second term.
The empowerment program benefited over 500 farmers from various geopolitical wards within the Yagba West Local Government Area. Participants received essential agricultural tools, including sprayers and insecticides, as well as cash support to enhance food productivity in the state.
The Chairman of Yagba West Local Government Area Honourable Tosin Olokun at the empowerment programme encouraged the farmers to make good use of the Implements and expressed appreciation to the Governor of the state for his care and support for the people which is evident in their living standards and the series of the development strides in their domain
