In a heartwarming act of compassion, Sabua Care Foundation distributed food items to elderly residents of Lokoja, Kogi State, drawing commendation from traditional leaders, civil society groups, and community members. The outreach, which attracted elderly men and women as beneficiaries, was described as timely and impactful in alleviating hardship among vulnerable groups.

Speaking on behalf of the Anaja Gaku of Ganaja, Alhaji Yakubu Abubakar Jibrin, the representative at the event, Honourable Mohammed Ismaila, praised the foundation’s initiative.

> “At a time when many are facing economic difficulties, it is heartening to see individuals and organizations remembering the elderly,” he said. “We are grateful to Hajiya Sabua Rekiya Isah for her kindness and pray that the Almighty continues to bless and enlarge her coast.”

He further encouraged other well-meaning Nigerians to emulate the foundation’s effort in addressing poverty at the grassroots level.

> “It is through acts like this that we can build a more compassionate and inclusive society,” he added.

Also present at the event was Eunice Abimbola Agbogun, the Kogi State Coordinator of the Coalition of Civil Society Working for the Rights of the Elderly, who expressed her admiration for the program’s focus.

> “This is not just an outreach; it’s a direct response to the pressing needs of a frequently neglected population—our elderly,” she noted. “We need more of this, and we call on government agencies and private individuals to support foundations like Sabua Care for better reach and impact.”

Agbogun, who also serves as the North Central Representative of the Civil Society Situation Room, aligned the effort with the vision of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo’s administration.

> “Governor Ododo is passionate about reaching the vulnerable, and through my office, we will advocate for the government to recognize and partner with credible foundations like this,” she affirmed.

Program coordinator Usman Bashir outlined the foundation’s mission and track record.

> “Sabua Care Foundation has consistently reached out to various communities, and this initiative was designed specifically for the elderly who bear the brunt of current economic challenges,” he said. “This is a humanitarian effort, free from any political undertone.”

He commended the Lokoja community for embracing the program and contributing to its success through their participation.

The foundation’s supervisor, Alhaji Ibrahim Naira, emphasized the founder’s global reach and heartfelt commitment.

> “Hajiya Sabua Rekiya Isah, though based in the United States, is driven by a deep desire to give back to her people,” he said. “The selection process was fair and devoid of sentiments, and we are excited about the positive response from the community.”

> “The second phase of this outreach will take place soon here in Lokoja,” he added.

Several other community members, including Christiana Okorie, Deacon Paul Sheneni, Jibrin Danka, Berikisu Usman, and Honourable Aminat Teni Musa, took turns to applaud the foundation.

> “What Hajiya Sabua has done is a blessing to the community,” said Deacon Sheneni. “We pray that her light continues to shine and touch many more lives.”

The event concluded with a collective prayer for the success of Sabua Care Foundation and a resounding call for more collaborative efforts to support the elderly across the state.
