It was a moment of joy and emotions as Mr. and Mrs. Ebenezer Adurodija, Permanent Secretary of the Kogi State Ministry of Information and Communications, gave their beautiful daughter, Princess Omolola, in marriage to Mr. Aaron Akoji Makolo on the 5th and 6th of September, 2025.

Despite his busy schedule, the Kogi State Commissioner for Information and Communications, Hon. Kingsley Femi Fanwo, the Special Adviser on Electronic Media, and his entourage graced the engagement ceremony on Friday.

“Marriage is a beautiful thing, an institution constituted by God Himself. It is a joy to witness this young couple come together to start a family. Mr. Ebenezer Adurodija, my Permanent Secretary, is a man of integrity, humility, accountability, and the fear of God. I have no doubt Mr. Aaron will enjoy this union, as he has trained his daughter in the way of the Lord,” Fanwo stated.

The Honourable Commissioner further enjoined the newlyweds to embrace peace, harmony, and oneness as they begin their new journey, wishing them a blissful, fruitful, and successful married life.

Princess Omolola Adurodija is the daughter of the Permanent Secretary and former Secretary of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Kogi State Council, while her husband, Aaron Akoji Makolo, is the son of a former Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) official in Kogi State.

At the church wedding held on Saturday at the Anglican Church Army Signal, the officiating minister, Ven. Timothy Akande challenged couples to build their marriages on the foundation of God’s fear and love. He warned that many marriages collapse today due to a lack of reverence for God.

“Building marriage on the fear and love of God is the only guarantee of a blissful, peaceful, and successful union. Wives should be supportive of their husbands, and husbands must be responsible and hardworking to provide for their families. A happy home thrives on love and mutual understanding,” Ven. Akande stressed.

Speaking on the theme “Marriage, a Journey through the Fear of God”, the clergyman admonished the couple not to pattern their marriage after others or allow external interference, warning that unchecked advice could lead to friction.

In his remarks to the press, the father of the bride, Mr. Ebenezer Adurodija, expressed appreciation to guests for honouring his family. He advised the new couple to live in peace and harmony, acknowledging that marriage is not always easy, but assuring them that the same God who had sustained him and his wife for decades would sustain them too.

Also addressing the press at the reception, Chief Mrs. Ruth Fanwo, wife of the Honourable Commissioner, congratulated the newlyweds, wishing them a blissful, peaceful, and healthy married life. She urged them to embrace tolerance, patience, and love as the keys to lasting harmony.

The colourful ceremonies attracted dignitaries, including the Director-General of Protocol, Alhaji Suleiman Ibrahim; the Special Adviser on Electronic Media to the Governor, Hon. Yusuf Adebayo Ohiare; Special Adviser on Youths and Women Mobilisation, Hon. Charity Ijese Omole; Permanent Secretaries of various Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs); Director-General of the Kogi State Broadcasting Corporation, Princess Hajia Nana-Hauwa Yussuff; Managing Director of The Graphic, Mr. YJ Itopa; as well as management and staff of the Ministry of Information and Communications.
