FIRS VISITS KOGI HEAD OF CIVIL SERVICE, SEEKS STRATEGIC COLLABORATION

The office of the Head of Civil service receives with enthusiasm a top management delegation of the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) who paid a courtesy visit to the Kogi State Head of Civil Service, Dr. Elijah Evinemi, FCA.

According to the leader of the delegation, Mr. Hussaini Yusuf who stated that the essence of their visitation is to seek for collaboration and deepen discussions on issues relating to improved tax contribution as part of efforts to meet national revenue targets noting that meeting such targets requires synergy with states to drive compliance and improve contributions from individuals and corporate entities.

Welcoming the delegation, Dr. Evinemi commended the initiative of the FIRS and described the engagement as timely, stressing that effective tax administration is pivotal to sustainable development and improved service delivery in the public sector.

He assured the FIRS of the readiness of the Kogi State Civil Service to partner in compliance promotion, and institutional support aimed at broadening the tax base and strengthening accountability in revenue generation.

Dr. Evinemi further noted that the administration of His Excellency, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, FCA, places high priority on transparency, fiscal responsibility, and partnerships that adds value to governance.
He further urged the delegation to engage other important agencies to create awareness and sensitize the people about the benefits of tax contribution.

The permanent secretary Administration and public services, Mr. Celestine Idoko mni gave the votes of thanks while both parties pledged to continue engagements towards enhancing revenue generation as a pathway to sustaining development and improving the wellbeing of citizens.
