HON. TOSIN OLOKUN DIRECTS PETROLEUM AND PROVISION TRADERS TO HALT SUPPLY OF PRODUCTS TO CRIMINAL ELEMENTS
Following the successful conclusion of the military operations launched to dislodge criminal elements in Yagba West, the Executive Chairman of Yagba West Local Government Area and Chairman of ALGON, Kogi State Chapter, Hon. Tosin Olokun, has issued further directives to strengthen security measures in the council area.
The Chairman directed all petroleum stations within Yagba West to desist from selling fuel in jerricans or to individuals transporting the product into the forests. Similarly, provision traders and other related businesses are strongly advised against selling food items and supplies in large quantities to buyers taking them into the forest.
Hon. Olokun stated that these measures are necessary to cut off the logistics and supply chains sustaining criminal hideouts and activities in the local government.
He further urged all citizens to remain vigilant and promptly report suspicious individuals or movements to security agencies, noting that community cooperation remains key in consolidating the success already achieved.
While appreciating the gallantry of the Nigerian military, other security agencies, and the resilience of the people, the Chairman reassured residents that Yagba West remains committed to safeguarding lives, restoring peace, and preventing a recurrence of criminal incursions.
