OGORI/MAGONGO – In a significant political development, a distinguished son of Ogori/Magongo, Nathaniel Orayen Mosisuga, has officially declared his interest to contest for the position of Chairman in the forthcoming local government elections under the banner of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Mr. Mosisuga, an astute and well-established Architect based in Abuja, has taken a decisive step towards translating his professional expertise into community development by formally consulting with the critical stakeholders of the two constituent communities.
Understanding the importance of grassroots endorsement, the aspirant embarked on a consultative tour, engaging traditional rulers, chiefs, religious leaders, various Agbade and key stakeholders across Ogori and Magongo. These consultations were aimed at presenting his vision and seeking their counsel and blessings.
The response from the community leaders has been reported as overwhelmingly positive and encouraging. They acknowledged his capacity, pedigree, and the fresh perspective he brings from his successful architectural practice. The leaders then gave him advice on how to carry everybody along in this journey .
However, in a demonstration of their forthrightness, the stakeholders also offered a crucial word of caution. They candidly informed Mr. Mosisuga to be prepared for a competitive process, noting that other contenders for the same chairmanship position are expected to emerge. They emphasized the need for him to be strategically ready for whichever method the party ultimately employs in selecting its flag bearer, whether through direct primaries, consensus, or other means.
In response to this show of support and guidance, Nathaniel Orayen Mosisuga expressed his profound gratitude. He stated, “I am deeply humbled by the confidence reposed in me by our revered fathers and leaders. Their blessing is the strongest foundation upon which to build this aspiration. I am fully aware of the task ahead and the competitive nature of the race. I am prepared to engage in a robust, issue-based campaign that focuses on the developmental needs of our people.”
He further added, “My background in architecture has taught me the importance of a solid foundation, meticulous planning, and visionary execution. These are the same principles I intend to bring to the governance of Ogori/Magongo, to build a local government that is progressive, prosperous, and inclusive for all.”
This move by Nathaniel Orayen Mosisuga signals the beginning of an active political season in Ogori/Magongo Local Government Area, with many anticipating a keenly contested primary within the APC.
