Kogi State Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo has made a commitment to prioritize the construction of the road connecting Odo-Ere and Igbaruku communities in order to enhance the convenience and well-being of the residents.
Representing Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo at the 2025 Igbaruku community day celebration on Saturday, April 19, 2025, was the Secretary to the Government of Kogi State, Mrs. Folashade Ayo Ade Arike. She assured the community members that she would leverage her position to advocate for the immediate assessment and construction of the road project by the Kogi State Road Maintenance Agency (KOGRUMA).
During the event, Engineer Oluwasegun Joseph, a prominent member of the Igbaruku community, highlighted the significance of the occasion as a momentous milestone in the community’s history. He expressed gratitude to Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo for the opportunity to contribute to the administration’s initiatives, and As the Kogi State Commissioner for Environment and Ecological Development, he pledged to continue supporting the administration’s agenda, policies, and programs.
The Commissioner reiterated his commitment to serving as a positive representative of the Igbaruku community, promising to attract further development opportunities for the community and its residents.
During his opening speech, Elder Olusegun Ogunkolo, the National President of Igbaruku Okeri Development Association, emphasized the significance of the 2025 Igbaruku Community Day celebration. This event serves as a momentous occasion to honor the cultural heritage of the community and reunite the sons and daughters of Igbaruku from around the world, encouraging them to contribute to the development of their ancestral land.
The highlight of the celebration was the presentation of meritorious awards to individuals who have excelled in their respective fields, recognizing their outstanding achievements. This gesture aims to inspire them to continue making positive impacts on the Igbaruku community. Additionally, traditional titles were bestowed upon deserving individuals, including sons, daughters, and friends of the community, in recognition of their contributions.
