Press Release
1st July, 2025
With utmost humility and a strong sense of purpose, I, Israel Ebiloma, officially declare my intention to contest for the position of Chairman of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Kogi State Chapter. This step is inspired by my passion for youth development, community service, and my belief in the collective potential of Kogi youths.
As a holder of a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and a Master’s degree in Peace and Conflict Studies, I possess the academic foundation to understand and address the socioeconomic challenges faced by young people today. My over four years of experience in youth-focused initiatives and public sector projects have equipped me with the skills to promote unity, inclusiveness, and sustainable growth within the council.
I am particularly grateful to the people and youths of Kogi Central Senatorial District for embracing my candidacy. Your encouragement reflects the values of unity and progress, and I am humbled by your acceptance. This position, zoned to Kogi Central, presents an opportunity to unite and elevate the aspirations of youths across Kogi State, and I pledge to serve with dedication and transparency.
My years of active participation in youth activities have built a strong reputation and wide acceptance across the state. As a former Director of Transport and Logistics of the National Association of Kogi State Students during my undergraduate days, I showcased leadership that resonated with many. My active participation in the NYCN-led GYB to PYB initiative under the leadership of Amb. Usman Ogohi Samuel further solidified my commitment to youth advocacy.
I also served as a youth coordinator during the successful Tinubu/Shettima and Sanni Egidi National Assembly mandates in the 2023 general elections. Furthermore, I was a unit youth leader in the Ododo/Oyibo Consolidation Mandate, which demonstrated my ability to mobilize and inspire. These experiences have earned me widespread acceptability, particularly among the vibrant youth population in Geregu Ward, Ajaokuta, and the Central Senatorial District at large.
This decision to run for Chairman follows extensive consultations and deep reflection on the challenges and opportunities within Kogi NYCN. I intend to build upon the remarkable achievements of Amb. Usman Ogohi Samuel, whose grassroots mobilization and policy advocacy have laid a foundation for progress.
I also commend His Excellency, Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, for his steadfast commitment to youth development. His investments in vocational training, entrepreneurship, and youth inclusivity in governance have provided a roadmap for growth in our constituency.
My vision is to lead a council that genuinely represents the aspirations of Kogi youths. If elected, I will prioritize innovation, creativity, and collaboration while driving initiatives that directly impact youth development. This is more than personal ambition; it is a collective mission to build a future that reflects the strength and determination of Kogi youths.
I invite all stakeholders, VYOs, and youths across Kogi State to join me in this transformative journey. Together, we can position NYCN as a beacon of excellence and progress.
Thank you for your support and belief in this vision. Let us build a united and inclusive future for Kogi youths.
Yours in Service,
Israel Ebiloma
