As we celebrate the essence of democracy on this day, 12th June, 2025, let us reflect on the significance of this system of governance that empowers every individual to contribute to our collective growth and development. As the Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, I urge all citizens to continue to uphold the principles of democracy, including inclusivity, equality, and respect for human rights.
I must commend the leadership of my principal, the Executive Governor and Chief Servant of Kogi State, Alh. Usman Ahmed Ododo, for his unwavering commitment to democratic principles and his vision for a prosperous and inclusive Kogi State. Under his able leadership, our state is poised for remarkable growth and development, and I am honoured to be part of this transformative journey.
I also wish to specially acknowledge the First Lady and Mother of Kogi State, Her Excellency, Hajia Sefinat Ododo, for her tireless efforts and transformative support for women and children in our state. Her dedication to empowering women and promoting their welfare has been a source of inspiration to us all.
Let us harness the power of democracy to promote social justice, economic empowerment, and the welfare of our people, particularly the most vulnerable members of our society. By doing so, we can build a brighter future for Kogi State, where every voice is heard, and every citizen has the opportunity to thrive.
As we move forward, I call on all stakeholders to continue supporting the Ododo’s-led administration. Together, we can build a Kogi State that is truly inclusive, prosperous, and just for all.
*Signed:*
Hon. Hajia Fatimah Momoh
Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Kogi State.
