As Kogi celebrates Easter alongside the global community, the State Project Coordinator, Nigeria for Women Project Scale-Up (NFWP-SU), Pst. (Mrs) Esther Ameadaji, PhD, has called upon women’s institutions to reflect on the deeper meaning of this season.

In a statement issued in Lokoja, Dr. Ameadaji emphasized the importance of honoring the significance of the crucifixion, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ during this momentous occasion.

“As we commemorate the death and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ, I extend warm Easter greetings to all women, families, and communities across our dear state”, she stated.

According to the state Coordinator, Easter is a time of reflection, hope, and renewal. It reminds us of the power of sacrifice, the triumph of life over death, and the unwavering strength of faith where women played a significant role in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, from the women who stood by Him at the cross to those who first visited the empty tomb and proclaimed the risen Christ, their courage, love, and faithfulness stood tall in the face of pain and uncertainty.

Dr. Ameadaji noted that the women were not just spectators; they were torchbearers of hope, resilience, and devotion, adding that In the same way, today’s women continue to carry the torch of transformation in families and society.

The NFWP-SU Coordinator however encouraged women to remain steadfast, just like Mary Magdalene and the other women who never turned away from Christ while urging them to uphold the virtues of love, service, and perseverance in their homes, workplaces, and communities.

While acknowledging the sacrifices, diligence, and women’s commitment to building peaceful homes and thriving communities are invaluable, she charged women to continue to empower one another through unity, knowledge, and shared purpose. She prayed that the Easter season will inspire women to rise with renewed strength and determination to build a more inclusive, equitable, and prosperous society for all.

The Nigeria for Women Project Scale-Up remain committed to supporting women communities on this journey of empowerment and impact.

Happy Easter!
