Kogi state chairman of Nigeria Union of Pensioners [NUP], elder Egr. Clement Otaru Ohida, has join other eminent dignitaries to felicitate with the Chief servant of Kogi state, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, his cabinet members, Christians and the totality of citizenry on this year’s-2025- Easter celebration.
In his Easter message which was made available to Newsmen in Lokoja, kogi state capital, Ohida ,said it is a season that beacon to Nigerians that the current spate of uncertainty, insecurity, and economic retardation will soon unfold to a season of triumph of good over evil, hope over dispair and light over darkness.
The Kogi state pensioner boss , who congratulated christian brethren on this suspicious ‘Easter celebration’ which is the most significant event and festival in the christian calendar asserted that this year’s anniversary is very unique for the adherents of the two great faiths which culminated in the recent completion of the week -long fasting for Muslim ummah and the forty days of season of lent for christians.
Elder Engr Clement stressed that the two faiths availed themselves during these period to fast, pray, assist the poor, abhor injustice, give alms and engaged in self examination and repentant of sins.
He therefore urged Christians and non christian alike to emulate the virtues of love,sacrifice and self denial which characterised the life of Jesus Christ adding that this season also call
for deeper reflection as Christ’s resurrection brought hope, Faith and assurance6 to the world.
Elder Engr. Clement Ohida, appealed to Christian community and the totality of the citizens not to lose hope in God and in those in leadership positions by praying to enable them implement viable policies and programmes that will fast track meaningful development and improve human capacity growth.
