Kogi State Commissioner for Information and Communications, Hon. Kingsley Femi Fanwo, has paid a glowing tribute to renowned journalist and publisher, Chief Femi Olugbemi, as he marks his 50th birthday, describing him as “a trailblazer in grassroots journalism and a committed advocate of democratic ideals.”

Chief Olugbemi, the publisher of Democracy Newsline, has been a prominent voice in the media space in Kogi State, earning respect for his professionalism, consistency, and dedication to using journalism as a tool for societal progress.

In a special congratulatory message, Hon. Fanwo described the golden jubilarian as “a man of outstanding courage and integrity, whose passion for truth and balanced reportage has helped shape public discourse and promote democratic accountability in Kogi and beyond.”

“Chief Femi Olugbemi’s contributions to journalism and media development in our state are both historic and enduring. Through Democracy Newsline, he has built a credible platform that continues to inform, educate, and engage citizens on matters of governance and public interest,” the Commissioner stated.

Fanwo noted that Olugbemi’s impact goes beyond publishing, as he has mentored many young journalists and played key roles in promoting press freedom and professionalism in the state.

“As he turns 50, we celebrate not just his age, but his unwavering commitment to ethical journalism and community development. He stands tall as one of the pillars of the media industry in Kogi State,” Fanwo added.

The Commissioner wished Chief Olugbemi continued good health, renewed strength, and even greater accomplishments in the years ahead.
