A high-powered delegation led by representatives of the First Lady of Nigeria, Sen. Oluremi Tinubu, has paid a condolence visit to Governor Ahmed Ododo of Kogi, following the passing of his father, Alh. Ahmed Momohsani.
The governor’s father passed away on Aug . 18, and laid to rest on Aug. 19 according to Islamic rites.
The delegation, led by Hajiya Laila Barau, wife of the Deputy Senate President, expressed heartfelt sympathy to the governor, his family, and the people of Kogi State.
The delegation, which included First Ladies of several States, wives of serving Ministers, and top officials of the federal government, offered prayers for the repose of Alhaji Ododo’s soul.
Hajiya Barau conveyed first lady’s condolences, describing Alhaji Ododo’s demise as saddening but noting that he lived a worthy and fulfilled life, leaving behind a great legacy.
The delegation prayed for Almighty Allah to forgive his shortcomings and grant him Aljannah Firdaus.
The Special Adviser on Women Affairs, Hajiya Nana Abdullahi, expressed profound appreciation to the First Lady and her representatives for their presence, prayers, and condolence messages.
She noted that the gesture has brought immense comfort to the family in their moment of grief.
Among the delegation were wives of the Governors of Yobe and Ebonyi states; wives of the Ministers works, Agriculture and Food Security, Minister of State for Agriculture and Food Security, Minister of Defence. Minister of Budget and National Planning; as well as top officials be of the Kogi State government.
The delegation’s visit demonstrates solidarity with the Ododo family during this difficult time.
The presence of top officials, including wives of governors and ministers, underscores the respect and admiration for Alhaji Ododo and his family.
