In a significant development, constituents of Kogi Central Senatorial District have taken the bold step of initiating a recall process against Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan. This action stems from a vote of no confidence in her representation.

The recall process commenced in Okehi local government area on Wednesday, drawing a substantial turnout of electorates in support of the recall initiative.

One of the electorates, Nura Ibrahim, emphasized that the exercise transcends party affiliations, highlighting the widespread discontent among constituents regarding Akpoti-Uduaghan’s performance. Key concerns include her perceived failure to effectively address critical issues such as poverty, infrastructure, and education.

Ibrahim further explained that the decision to trigger the recall process was not made lightly. Stakeholders have made numerous attempts to engage with Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan, only to be met with what they perceive as disdain and arrogance.

The recall process is slated to span two days, encompassing all polling units in the five local governments of Kogi Central. During this period, constituents will be called upon to sign a petition advocating for the senator’s recall.

This development underscores the growing dissatisfaction within the constituency and signals a pivotal moment in the political landscape of Kogi Central Senatorial District. Stay tuned for further updates on this unfolding story.
