Business owners in Lokoja metropolis have been advised to work hard at growing their businesses to enable them to become self-reliant.
The Commissioner of Commerce and Industry, Alhaji Muhammed Muktar Shuaibu, gave the advice while declaring open, a one day symposium on business elevation at the Idrinana Hotel, Lokoja.
Organized by the First City Monument Bank (FCMB), the symposium was put in place to help business owners get the right knowledge to help elevate their business efficiency and productivity.
Alhaji Muhammed Muktar Shuaibu who was represented by the Director, Administration in the Ministry, Mr Ejeh Michael,noted that self reliance remains the fulcrum of any business and called on them not to get discouraged at the turn of events but to keep pressing on.
Speaking at the symposium, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Kogi Enterprise Development Agency (KEDA), Alhaji Muhammed Kadiri Okeji called for concerted effort at boosting businesses for economic growth and reliability.
The Managing Director, who was represented by the Executive Director Operations in the Agency, Mr Akinyemi Akinola, said a key area of interest for the agency is in the area of monitoring businesses to ensure its growth.
He advised business owners to take advantage of opportunities that avail for them at the agency to be fully equipped for maximum productivity.
The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer appealed to them to give good attention to the lecture as it would help them make decision that will grow their businesses.
