The Permanent Secretary of the Kogi State Ministry of Health, Mr Steven Momoh Aziz Today, conducted an interactive session with the staff of the Finance and Accounts Department. He expressed his gratitude for their dedication and hard work, urging them to uphold the highest standards of integrity and professionalism in their roles.

During the session, the Permanent Secretary acknowledged the Honourable Commissioner for Health’s commitment to staff welfare, highlighting the approval of a monthly deduction of N100,000 from the imprest for this purpose as a testament to that commitment. He also praised the Honourable Commissioner for the comprehensive transformation of the Ministry of Health.

However, the Permanent Secretary made it clear that the management would not tolerate indiscipline, absenteeism, or unauthorized disclosure of official information, categorizing these behaviours as gross misconduct that could result in termination of employment. He encouraged staff to familiarize themselves with public service rules and financial regulations to enhance their effectiveness and diligence in fulfilling their responsibilities.

In response, the Director of Finance and Accounts expressed appreciation for the interactive session and confirmed that his team was performing well in their official duties. He reiterated the importance of adhering to public service rules, financial regulations, and ethical standards, noting that such compliance would contribute to the professional growth of the staff. He assured the Permanent Secretary that his team would diligently follow all directives provided.
