The Chairman of the Kogi State Independent Electoral Commission (KOSIEC) has called on all the Commissioners to intensify mobilisation efforts for the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise being conducted by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
A directive issued by KOSIEC Chairman, Hon. Mamman Nda Eri, emphasised that broad participation in the CVR is essential to strengthening Nigeria’s democracy and ensuring credible elections.
The Chairman charged Commissioners to actively engage their constituents, sensitise communities, and encourage every eligible citizen to register and obtain their Permanent Voter’s Card (PVC).
To achieve this, Commissioners have been directed to:
Use social media and other digital platforms to spread awareness.
Partner with community leaders, youth groups, religious bodies, and civil society organisations to deepen outreach at the grassroots.
Provide regular feedback on mobilisation activities, challenges, and recommendations.
Hon. Eri stressed that the exercise is a civic duty that must be treated with urgency, noting that inclusiveness in the electoral process guarantees stronger democratic institutions.

The Commission notes with utmost importance the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise being conducted by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). As part of our responsibility to promote democratic participation and inclusiveness, every eligible citizen must be encouraged to register and obtain their Permanent Voter’s Card (PVC).
Accordingly, all Honourable Commissioners are hereby directed to:
1. Engage Constituents Actively: Take deliberate steps to sensitise and mobilise people within your respective constituencies to participate fully in the CVR exercise.
2. Utilise Digital Platforms: Leverage the use of social media platforms, blogs, WhatsApp groups, and other online channels to disseminate information, reminders, and awareness messages on the importance of voter registration.
3. Community Mobilisation: Collaborate with community leaders, youth groups, religious bodies, and civil society organisations to amplify outreach efforts at the grassroots level.
4. Periodic Updates: Provide the Commission with feedback on sensitisation efforts undertaken, challenges observed, and recommendations for improved mobilisation.
Honourable Commissioners are reminded that broad participation in the CVR process is vital for ensuring credible elections and strengthening our democratic institutions. Your active involvement in this civic duty is both expected and appreciated.
