A three day intense security operation in the wake of the last thursday’s kidnapping along Karara – Magajiya village has paid off with the rescue of nine persons held hostage by the criminal group.

Following the unfortunate incidence, the Lokoja Local Government Chairman Comrade Abdullahi Adamu swiftly mobilized vigilante and Hunter groups to track the criminals, a proactive step that led to the successful rescue of nine persons including 2 Police officers from Ekiti State Command.

The Commander noted that during the operations several of the fleeing kidnappers sustained gunshot wounds hence the need to sustain the operation.

While receiving briefing from the local security groups, the Chairman charged the gallant officers to continue with the operations to ensure the safe release of any other victims held and rid the communities of the roaming criminals looking for soft targets. He thanked the men for once again rising to the occasion.

Comrade Adamu assured the officers that even though the security outfits are overstretched, the Government of Alh. Ahmed Usman Ododo is already taking steps to recruit more hands.

The rescue operations demonstrate the commitment of both the local government and the state government to safeguarding lives and property.
