My name is Orenisi idowu Festus I was giving birth to about 5decades ago in Odogbe isanlu Kogi State. I write to clear the air regarding several calls I have received from friends, family, Old school mate , royal and spiritual father’s on the reason why I was not present at the recent isanlu day 2025 celebration.
To this end I want to say I am one of the most lover of our dear community isanlu as a matter of fact since the year 2000 I have not experience any new year celebration, Easter, Election , isanlu day , ijemu day outside Isanlu for whatever reasons but for the first time this year I encounter a reason that make me sacrifice the joy of meeting old friends, other local joy and merriment attached to the celebration of our annual isanlu day .
Thou considering the nature of my job some may ask what is my business or concern about political happening but my answer to that is that I was an isanlu man before joining the service and I will still remains an isanlu man even after my fruitful 35yrs in federal service ” So I will like to say that the recent isanlu day celebration 2025 felt like a withered Branch on our community tree . The lack of unity among our leaders and the prioritization of individual interest over the collective good of all have left me and others like minds dishethnened to the extent that we are not sure of participating in such gathering untill the effort of our royal father’s ,the executive of the IPU ,in using gathering such as isanlu day , ijemu (new yam festival)and other traditional activities been celebrated in isanlu into mending our fractures and disunity begins to yield significant and positive results.
I then look forward to an unbiased , undiluted,holistic intervention of our elders and we’ll meaning sons and daughters of our community (lsanlu) in rosolving all lingering political and communal issues that has further separated us than the unity we have been praying fervently for.
