By Julius Abel | KogiOnlineNg | Kabba, Kogi State — July 17, 2025

Following a successful workshop in Kabba, renowned Federal Government Business Development Consultant, Chief Jeremiah Oladokun, has revealed plans to take his entrepreneurial empowerment seminar to Okene as the next stop in a statewide campaign to promote the Federal Government’s MSME loan scheme via the Bank of Industry (BOI).

Chief Oladokun, who spoke during a packed one-day business training session, emphasized that economic freedom begins with financially empowered citizens, especially through small and medium-scale enterprises. He urged entrepreneurs across Kogi State, particularly in Kogi Central, to prepare for the upcoming Okene edition, which will provide hands-on guidance on accessing and maximizing the FGN MSME loan facility.

₦5 Million Loan Opportunity at 9% Interest

The consultant described the loan as a golden opportunity for both startups and existing businesses to scale up, with funding ranging from ₦1 million to ₦5 milli
on, offered at a single-digit interest rate of 9%, repayable over 36 months.

“This initiative is a cornerstone of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s multibillion-naira entrepreneurship support program,” Oladokun said. “The BOI loan is structured to lift MSMEs from survival mode to sustainability.”

Practical Business Education in Kabba

The Kabba seminar drew a diverse audience of both emerging and established business owners, who benefited from practical sessions on:

Business mindset reorientation

Starting small and scaling smart

Accessing capital through crowdfunding and social capital

Basic accounting and finance for MSMEs

Market targeting and proposal writing strategies

Chief Oladokun, a BOI-accredited Business Development Service Provider, encouraged salary earners to begin building businesses while still earning.

“Salary is not a lifetime guarantee,” he warned. “Don’t just consume—invest. Turn your salary into seeds of wealth.”

From Kabba to Okene: The Journey Continues

With the Kabba event concluded, Chief Oladokun announced that Okene in Kogi Central would host the next MSME wealth creation seminar, to be followed by an event in Kogi East.

“The goal is to reach every part of the state with the tools and knowledge needed to unlock the massive opportunity this BOI loan represents,” he said. “Okene is next, and we’re coming with practical empowerment, not just theory.”

He commended President Tinubu for what he termed “the best intervention for business-minded Nigerians at a time of economic transition.”
