ODU Calls On Ogorians To Come Out For INEC CVR Exercise.

The President of Ogori Descendants Union, ODU, world wide.Dr. Gabriel Aiso has called on the people of Ogori community to come out emasse to register in the ongoing INEC continuous voters registration exercise.

 

He made the call during a town hall meeting held at the Ogori Civic center in Ogori/Magongo Local Government Area of Kogi State.

 

Dr. Aiso said it was important for Ogorians to come out in their numbers to get registered as having a large number was key for electioneering and developmental purposes.

 

Speaking on insecurity with regards to farmers herders clashes in the community, the ODU President said the issue has eaten deep into the fabric of the society as such security was everybody’s businesses and the people have to be vigilant, to report any suspicious action to the appropriate authority.

 

He said as a community there was need for the people of Ogori to continue to live in peace and urged them not to take the laws into their hands.

 

Dr. Aiso commended President Bola Tinubu for appointing a kogite in the person of Professor Joash Ojo Amupitan as INEC National Chairman.

 

He also used the occasion to commend Governor Usman Ododo for initiating the health insurance scheme in the state as well as the ten kilometers road construction for the twenty one Local Government Areas of which Ogori/Magongo is part of.

 

The member representing Ogori/Magongo at the state House of Assembly, Hon.Bode Ogunmola, appealed to youths from the area to come out in their numbers to get registered in the on going continuous voters registration exercise.

 

He explained that if they do not register it means they would have disenfranchised themselves from the next general election.

 

On the issue of farmers herders clashes , Hon. Ogunmola urged the people to report all cases to the security agencies for proper action.

 

Acting Chairman Ogori/Magongo Traditional Council His Royal Highness, Otaro Idu of Ogori, David Ojo Akande, appealed to Ogori youths to embrace the INEC continuous voters registration exercise and called for their continuous support for the peace, progress and development of the community.
