RT HON SIR,

PLEASE BE HONORABLE AND KEEP TO YOUR WORDS

I must start by first pleading with you, to please forgive me for writing a lengthy letter to you, and plead that you take time to read, because, just like Mariama Ba works of sarcasm, am going to be writing “so long a letter”!

If you remember sometimes in March 2022, Myself (Jesse Abayomi oloke), Hon. Mike Meseko, Hon Korede Sunday, and Comrade Maxwell Adegoke visited you in Abuja for a meeting facilitated by Chief Dare Olatunde, the Mayegun of isanlu through our leaders then; Chief Henry Abimbola, Chief Sunday Abayomi Pedro, and others.

But myself and colleagues were sent as four wise men to first visit and sample your views and come back with an opinion.

The meeting was facilitated by Chief Dare Mayegun, your chief strategist, to convince our group to work for your second term with an agreement.

The meeting was held with us at Sheraton hotel and Towers, Abuja around 9pm.

Present with us in that meeting apart from you and us, was Chief Dare Mayegun, himself.

Elder leke sir, that night , you spoke extensively on your achievements and plans for the second term if given the opportunity.

One of the points raised that night was, your plan, promise and desire to support a Mopamuro person in 2027! And that if we can work together, you will pursue fairness and Equity.

According to you, your desire to do a second term was to balance up Yagba East slot to be 12 years as Yagba west has done, so that when it’s Mopamuro turn in 2027, we’ll also spend 8years to balance up with other Yagba LGA.

You however, told us that we must decamp to your Party, ADC. We did not agree to decamp that night , but promised to report back to our leaders.

Elder sir, many people who are not privy to this meeting did not know why , today we are kicking against your attempt to do a Volta face and renege on your earlier stand to support us at Mopamuro.

We reported back to our leaders, who also met with you at Abuja at an enlarged meeting, where agreement were made to:
1. Decamp to ADC
2. Support you for second term just to balance up with Yagba west 12years
3. Agreed that you will support Mopamuro in 2027
4. Agreed to give now Chief Makinde Oyebode, a platform to vy for the House of Assembly under ADC and sponsor him.

We worked to fufill our own part of the bargain by campaigning and voted assiduously for you despite having a Mopamuro person then on the ballot. OUR FOCUS WAS ON 2027 AS AGREED SO THAT YAGBA EAST WOULD HAVE BALANCE UP WITH YAGBA WEST AND THUS GIVE US A SOFT LEVERAGE IN 2027 FOR US AT MOPAMURO TO BALANCE UP WITH 8YEARS.

We were not able to win Mopamuro for you, but delivered a chummy vote for you subduing the strength of the candidate, APC , the ruling party put up from our LGA.

APC won with just 146 votes. You had 3000+ vote just as the APC candidate who equally had 3000+ votes. Infact, we would have delivered to you Mopamuro, but for skirmishes base on ballot box snatching that occurred in ward 04 and which was ultimately cancelled by INEC.

Elder leke sir, am sorry am taking your time and stressing you to read ” so long a letter” this time not from “Mariama Ba” but from me.

Do you remember the story of Rehoboam in 1kings 12 vs 1-20? His story serves as a cautionary tale about the importance of seeking wise counsel and considering the potential consequences of ones actions. His foolishness in agreeing with greedy friends of His, led him to self destruction.

Do you remember the story of Absalom too? His over ambitiousness led him to attempt to dethrone his father due to bad counsels. He was led to self destruction.

King Richard of England was accused of silencing Truth-tellers and sorrounding himself himself with unsuitable advisors, which ultimately leads to his deposition by King Henry IV in 1399.

The Greatest men in History were destroyed by bad counsels from advisors, greed and over ambitiousness.

Distinguished Steve Karimi took a painful decision as a serving reps member in 2019, by not seeking a 3rd term despite being pushed for it by the same set of people pushing you today, it was a wise decision that created a platform for you to be whom you are today. Distinguished Karimi, today is enjoying the benefits of his decision years ago by being promoted to the Senate.

Elder leke sir, many people took us as a people trying to pull down a house they have joined in building, NO, they perhaps never knew that, I , and other members of our group led today by Commodore Foluso Daniel, Chief Eric Fiki and Chief Makinde Oyebode are strictly hanging our principled agitation on agreements made 3years ago.

While on campaign tour, you repeated this promise is:
1. Okegada (Amuro)
2. Aiyede Amuro
3. Takete Ide
4. Baptist Primary school open field

Videos are available to butter our claims.

What then happened to warrant your Volta face?

I, Jesse Abayomi oloke had worked together with my other colleagues both as a coordinator and media person. I created a YouTube channel for you, did more than hundred write ups for you, did many videos for you, toured the whole 21 LGAs of kogi state with you during your governorship expedition, it shows love and loyalty, but I love my roots more, and I honor promises more. I belong to the very few and available principle breeds politically and I don’t get carried away with king’s food.

I can’t allow the allure of the foods on the king’s table take away my dignity, principle and ideals.

The simple truth is , MOPAMURO LOKAN as you have declared years ago, and HEAVEN HAVE HACKENED TO YOUR WORDS when you declared it . It’s unethical to now want to swallow your words base on advices from contractors feeding on your table, and Ahitopels leading you to self destruction, forgetting that, for one Ahitopel, there are hundreds of Hushai ready to give counsel on how not to be too over ambitious.

Finally, Elder LEKE ABEJIDE sir, listen to the truth:
You have tried your best, and posterity is presently kind to you; STOP, THINK AND LOOK, at those presently singing your praises, and ask your self; do they truly love you or the money you give them, and contracts you facilitate for them?

You will get the answer in few year from now!

PLEASE DON’T CONTEST, ELDER LEKE ABEJIDE.

KEEP YOUR WORDS AND SUPPORT MOPAMURO AS PROMISED YEARS AGO. THE VOICE OF MAN IS THE VOICE OF GOD.

*JESSE ABAYOMI OLOKE*
