The people and residents of the Silo-Apansede community of Shettima-Zango area have appealed to the state government to provide them with a 500KVA transformer due to the breakdown of the old community-owned transformer.
According to the Secretary of the Silo-Apamsede community, Sunday Samuel who spoke to journalists said living without electricity has slowed down businesses and artisans’ daily income who depend on electricity for survival.
Samuel recalled that the same blackout had occurred that lasted for four months and the repair was also carried out through funds raised by community dwellers before this recent one.
“The community has been in darkness for a month, we have tried to repair it but the transformer is totally beyond repair hence soliciting government intervention,” He said.
The Community Chairman, Omega Ozovehe Ada also wishes the government could restore electricity on time to avoid insecurity and crimes in the community.
He said electricity helps reduce security challenges to a great extent.
We are sure that businesses to thrive again if the electricity supply returns to the community.
