The Silent Puppeteers: How Emotional Baiting Keeps You Hooked

by Oluwafemi Adekunle Adedeji Daniel Iselaiye (BinTinlaiyé Lojú Eiye Awodi)

> “From the eagle’s soaring gaze, the world appears tiny—yet in its piercing eyes lies the truth: perspective is power. What seems insurmountable to the earthbound becomes insignificant at the heights of destiny.”

—

We know the feeling—the sudden tug at your heart.
A message resurfaces. A song you once shared. A memory rekindled by a ghost hand.

It feels like an invitation.
You respond—eager, uncertain, human.

And then… nothing.

No explanation. No closure. Only the empty echo of your own voice across a silent field.
You wonder:
Was it real? Or was I being played?

This, my friend, is no accident.
It is the oldest tactic in the enemy’s handbook: emotional baiting.
And it thrives in darkness, confusion, and unsanctified hope.

> “For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace.”
(1 Corinthians 14:33)

When communication births confusion instead of peace, discernment must rise.
When outreach births only obsession, understand: you are being baited, not blessed.

—

The Anatomy of the Trap

1. The Hook

A fragment dangled before you—nostalgia, ambiguity, half-felt memories.
It’s not a bridge; it’s a snare.
It bypasses wisdom and targets your unhealed places.

> “The simple believe every word: but the prudent man looketh well to his going.”
(Proverbs 14:15)

Only the prudent pause before responding.
Only the wise recognize: not every voice deserves an answer.

—

2. The Reel

You respond—eager, hopeful.
And they disappear.
No reciprocation. No intention.

You are left alone with your own longing—a sacrifice offered on an altar they will never visit.

—

3. The Trap

Your mind, designed to seek meaning, now labors under their silence.
You invent excuses for them.
You doubt your own instincts.
You cling to hope not planted by God.

> “Hope deferred maketh the heart sick.”
(Proverbs 13:12)

Sick hearts are easy prey.
Sick hearts build cages where no captor is needed.

—

Why They Play This Game

Control Without Cost
They provoke the chase without ever stepping into the race.

Ego Feeding
Your attention—your hope—is their feast.
They harvest your reactions like crops they never sowed.

Plausible Deniability
When confronted, they retreat behind innocence.
“It was just a song. You’re overthinking.”
And thus, you are made to doubt your discernment.

But the Spirit of God equips you to see through games:

> “Beware of wolves in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves.”
(Matthew 7:15)

Not everyone who sounds familiar is safe.

—

Breaking Free: The Divine Counterattack

1. Name the Game

Call it out.
Deception thrives where silence reigns. Truth sets captives free.

> “And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”
(John 8:32)

—

2. Starve the Beast

Do not answer a fool according to his folly, lest you also be like him.
(Proverbs 26:4)

No response is not weakness—it is warfare.
You deny them the reward of your attention.
You deny the enemy the seedbed of confusion.

—

3. Redirect Your Energy

Every moment wasted deciphering riddles meant to entangle you is a minute stolen from your assignment.

> “Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.”
(Ephesians 5:16)

Your calling demands your full gaze.
Your destiny cannot afford divided attention.

—

The Ultimate Truth

People who want to reconnect, do.
With clarity. With respect. Without manipulation.

The rest is noise.
Bait. Distraction. Vanity.

Stop filling in their blanks.
Stop dignifying shadows with your light.

You are not called to decode games.
You are called to discern and dominate.

—

Victory by Eagle’s Law

I, Oluwafemi Adekunle Adedeji Daniel Iselaiye—named by destiny, carved by fire, crowned by divine decree—speak this truth not from theory, but from ascension.

BinTinlaiyé Lojú Eiye Awodi—the one who sees through the eyes of the eagle.

> “But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles…”
(Isaiah 40:31)

The games of the ground-bound look pathetic from the heights of purpose.

The bait of the earth-crawlers cannot ensnare the eagle who knows how to soar.

> “Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.”
(Colossians 3:2)

You were never meant to be trapped.
You were born to reign.

—

The Final Decree

Choose not to bite.
Choose not to chase.
Choose to ascend.

“Ile oba tójó, ewà ló bùsi.”
“When a king’s palace burns, it rises more magnificent than before.”

Let your silence thunder louder than their manipulations.
Let your flight terrify those who never deserved your presence.

Because victory is not in the reaction.
Victory is in the refusal to be moved by anything less than the voice of God.
